Queer Ambassador

Queer Ambassadors are visible and vocal representatives of LGBTQIA+ ideals. They create awareness and promote understanding and acceptance regarding diverse gender and sexual identities. Queer Ambassadors may also serve as role models for LGBTIQIA+ youth and provide support and guidance to those who may be struggling with their identity or facing discrimination.
Why become a Queer Ambassador ?
To build capacity and create a national impact, a group of dynamic queer people and allies visit schools and colleges. After a short training in Kathmandu in early July, team members will be sent to all seven provinces as Queer Ambassadors.
Who can be a Queer Ambassador ?
A Queer Ambassador might come from the queer community or might present themselves as an ally. They are individuals who advocate for the human rights of LGBTQIA+ community members in various sectors, such as politics, education, or business houses

1) Is the July training necessary to participate in the program? Will we get paid?
- July training is absolutely necessary. You won't be paid for the training but lunch snacks and supplementary materials will be provided for free.
2) I am interested in attending the training. However, I'm not sure I can travel to the cities. Can I still apply?
Yes. We encourage everyone to apply even if you can't travel to the cities.
3) What are the seven cities? Do we have to travel to all seven provinces if we get selected?
Cities will most likely be province capitals. You are not required to travel to all cities. We are flexible and will match Queer Ambassadors with their schedules and interests.
4) Is this a paid opportunity and/or what costs are covered?
Once selected, we will cover all traveling costs of Queer Ambassadors. You will also receive a stipend based on your work days.
5) What are the dates?
We have yet to schedule screening and teaching dates but it'll be sometime between June and Octo.
