Himalayan Fashion Adventure:
A Historic Event in Nepal’s Fashion & Photography Scene

Gehendra Dhimal Foundation has been at the heart of Himalayan Fashion Adventure, playing a crucial role from conceptualization to execution. This one-of-a-kind project unfolded in multiple phases, beginning with an extensive pre-production process, followed by high-altitude fashion photography in the remote Mustang region, a stunning book publication, and a grand exhibition in Kathmandu that set a new benchmark for fashion photography in Nepal.

From Vision to Reality: Nepal’s Most Ambitious Fashion Photography Project

With the support of Location Nepal, Gautam Dhimal, and an elite production team, the project was executed at the highest professional standards, drawing global attention. The exhibition, held at Location Nepal’s transformed gallery space, recreated the aesthetic and feel of Mustang’s Tibetan Plateau, immersing visitors in the world of Himalayan high fashion.

For this project, only the finest Fujifilm GFX 100 medium format camera system and Profoto lighting setups were used, ensuring breathtaking image quality and setting a new standard for high-resolution photography in extreme conditions. The exhibition, attended by thousands, including celebrities, diplomats, industry professionals, and media, showcased large-format archival prints on Hahnemühle paper, a first of its kind in Nepal.

A Legacy of Excellence in Production, Photography & Fashion

The Gehendra Dhimal Foundation’s involvement extended beyond creative execution. As an organization dedicated to arts, culture, and creative education, it played a key role in facilitating the exhibition, engaging international audiences, and strengthening Nepal’s reputation as a hub for high-end fashion, photography, and production.

Himalayan Fashion Adventure continues to gain global recognition, securing top honors at the International Photography Awards (IPA) by the Lucie Foundation, winning third prize in the Professional Advertising/Fashion category. This award cements its place as one of the most ambitious and groundbreaking photography projects to emerge from Nepal.
